At Budeful, we love celebrating the independent places and hidden gems that make Cornwall such a special place to explore ā especially when they welcome your four-legged companions too.
We were delighted recently to be featured by The Dog Friendly Map, a brilliant resource helping people discover genuinely dog friendly cafƩs, shops, pubs and places to visit across the UK. Their carefully curated guides make travelling with your dog so much easier, allowing everyone to enjoy the adventure together.

Discover the Enchantment of St Nectan's GlenĀ šæāØ
One magical location we think deserves a special mention is St Nectan's GlenĀ ā a truly enchanting hidden valley tucked away near Tintagel.
Through the centuries, the River Trevillet has carved its way through ancient Devonian slate, creating the breathtaking 60-foot waterfall that flows through the famous kieve basin. Surrounded by lush greenery, winding woodland paths and the soothing sound of cascading water, it feels like stepping into another world.
The glen has long been considered a sacred and spiritual place, where visitors leave ribbons, crystals, prayers and tiny āFaerie Stacksā made from stones gathered beside the water ā each one marking a memory, wish or quiet moment of reflection. Legend even says that, if you stand still long enough, you may catch sight of a fairy fluttering through the trees.
Adding to the magic is the historic Hermitage building, believed by some to be linked to Saint Nectan himself, who is said to have rung a silver bell during storms to warn ships of the dangerous rocks below Rocky Valley. Today, the beautifully preserved building serves as a welcoming gift shop and visitor space for guests exploring the glen.
Most importantly for fellow dog lovers ā St Nectanās Glen warmly welcomes dogs, making it a wonderful day out for the whole family. From peaceful woodland walks to the mystical waterfall itself, it is one of Cornwallās truly unforgettable experiences.
After your adventures, why not continue your coastal wanderings with a visit to Budeful in Bude? We always love meeting travelling pups and their humans alike.
